The article title is more telling: "OpenAI is making the mistakes Facebook made."

And so it begins.

Anyone who says that OpenAI isn't going to drive engagement by any means necessary in order to drive ad revenue once they become dependent on it, is very naive.

If Anthropic's claim to never run ads is true, then won't users just switch over there?


most users haven't heard of Anthropic

most users haven't switched to Kagi even though it doesn't run ads and Google does


Google has been a verb for two decades. Switching to a new chatbot will not be that hard.


As a poet, her statement should have been a haiku or at least a poem.
