Not at all. To clarify, saying something is "over", without really saying what your plan is, is low effort.

"This is a problem, and here is what I/we should do", takes a bit more effort.

Firefox is still open source last I checked. You can still contribute, write bugs, write letters to the CEO, etc...

I'm only taking issue with tendency people have to throw shade without offering a solution.

"low effort" is a completely different statement from supporting monopolies. If that's what you actually meant, sure I guess.

But it's really hard for a normal person to do much about steering firefox other than helping raise a fuss.

Sometimes there isn't "a solution".

There may not be "a solution", but recognizing FUD for what it is, is a part of the "whole" solution.

If you don't have something to contribute (like a direction, suggestion, correction), then as they used to say, you are "part of the problem".

Shaming organizations into changing course sometimes works.

And even if it's useless that doesn't make it FUD.

I think when there's overblown criticism (does not take into account the positive things, seeks only to paint in a negative light), that's pretty clearly FUD.

Moreover, when there's a pattern of it occurring, for at least the past 5 years...

Not saying that firefox is perfect, I have issues with its project leadership too, but its nowhere near as bad as the (most vocal) critics like to claim.
