TweetDelete: Delete tweets from your Twitter feed in bulk (tweetdelete.net)

I don't want to get into the drama of why this might be useful, but I used this service to delete 15,000 of my tweets over the last decade. I also want to mention that Twitter's archive service is a fantastic piece of engineering and gives you a local version of your history with JSON and all your media attachments so you can hack to your hearts content.

Coincidentally I made a video[0] today to show off what this tool looks like once you set it up and also show off the archive bits. Regardless of how you feel about the situation, it's never a bad time to make a backup.

Personally I can think of fewer crueler punishments than having a swarth of your history, having your past obliterated.

Burning down a valuable part of the library of human existence feels awful, period. And I have such a hard time recognizing what pushes people towards the evn more radical info-suicide. Fear for oneself, of being seen? Spite against the not-so-benevolent librarians?

Seeing bits of the web die, seeing linkrot & bitrot creep in... it's awful. All those conversations people had with you, and now you are just nothing, a ghost... it's horrific.

Interesting perspective, thanks for sharing. In my case, I can’t think of any conversations I had on Twitter. 95% of my posts were just links to my Instagram posts (that I have also deleted). But everything is still on Flickr/Pixabay.

https://semiphemeral.com/ is what I have been using for this for a while, but always good to have more options.
