Most Reddit readers worth real advertising $ use ad blockers of one kind or another. I’m happy for the Reddit team, and hope they’re able to make a responsible revenue stream out of the fundraise.

As a marketer, Id position non-techy people are well worth advertising to also.

That said on the bunch of times I've tested reddit paid ads its always has one of the worst ROI's. A good organic campaign is far better if you have the ability to engage people in a genuine way.

They're monetizing the app and forcing mobile users onto it. The desktop site is just a way for them to acquire mobile users.

I'm curious, what makes the mobile app easier to monetize than their mobile web version? I get that push notifications can help bring people back, but other than that what benefit do they get by forcing people from web to native?

No ad blockers in the app.

Glad they haven't restricted API access other than newer shit features. I'm going to be sad when Apollo stops working one day as it is an amazing iOS experience.
