A clear description of what happens when you fail to recognize the unspoken social rules of the group.

Ive done this before and paid dearly for it. The team doesnt like being told they're incompetent, lazy, exaggerating, or cutting corners. Doing a grossly better job than the rest of the team without gaining their respect first will only cause them to turn on you. Many people are petty and selfish.

When I tried this I ended up becoming the scapegoat. Its not a good place to be.

If you're in a situation where you are vastly more talented than the team, do yourself a favor and socialize yourself more. Learn how to recognize how your actions impact others and what their impression of you is. Hold back at first and work on being reliable and trustworthy. Then once you have their respect make criticisms.

The alternative is to 1. work alone or 2. work with people at your level.
