And if one attempts to open up about their issues, they are told that their problems are small compared to this and that, and so and so. It doesn't help when Psychologists are expensive with insurance, without insurance - good luck on getting an appointment.
Like so many here have said: Take the time to speak to a Therapist. If you need help finding one, I'll be more then happy to give you a hand. Hell if you just want a "sounding board of sorts", I'm game too. And if you are able too, find a "workout buddy." (Personally for me - this helped greatly for motivation to get to the gym.)
Also: This is a good first step that you know there is a problem and you want to start correcting it. A sizable portion don't even know/care there is emotional problems with themselves until it's too late. But please know that this will take time, there is no quick fix. (That is one of the many primary reasons why people don't seek out treatment.)
I have mixed feelings about WFH. I love the idea and it works perfectly for those that don't/can't commute. Can work independently with out direct supervision. Then there are some that need the office structure to get their work done.
But, sadly, there are some that abused WFH privilege. And we, for the most part know what the out come is when a small group of people abuse a privilege - it's gets removed as a whole.
I'm strangely not surprised with HP and their actions (in this case, a lack there of). It reminds me of the Bose issue a year or so back with their products.
And the impact in which HP is going to experience - is nothing. Most people still to this day really don't care/understand on why this is a problem. They just want to get a computer for school, General internet surfing or watch cat videos. (Cat and Dog videos are quite interesting.)
I'm the same way. Give me a problem, I'll find a solution or a workaround. Ask me to study for a project or a cert, I'm screwed. I'll forget what I have read and I'll have to start over again. It's quite irritating, changing the study venue doesn't really help me. So.....
It's not the fact that I hate Grocery Shopping. I hate going into the store during peak hours. I know I can always go before or after peak hours, but working second shift makes that difficult when most stores near me close at 11pm. Coupled with the other issue: People. Hacking and coughing, not covering mouths, kids running around with no parental supervision. Or those same kids walking the cart into things or other people. (I know that not all kids are like this, but "one bad apple spoils the bunch")
I understand that going to a restaurant is no better, but at lease I can call ahead, pick up the food and leave.
