With all due respect, this comment demonstrates a misunderstanding of basic economic concepts. Gross domestic product is not simply “economic activity” but a measure of value creation. The mere movement of existing value through transactions does not, by itself, constitute economic production, which is why comparing transaction volume to GDP is misleading.
I have my doubts it'll ever be "finished". Servo gives strong vibes of a project that will avoid performance hacks, because they're not nice/state of the art code. I have no evidence, it's just the energy I've picked up from it
If you think a node-based editor makes a society modern, you have no idea what you are talking about, and you are foolish enough to believe this is what progress looks like. Not to discredit OAI, but you are just a victim of their marketing, chasing the next thing, which is merely an illusion of innovation, and it works because it fills your lack of true belonging. Do as you wish, you are a free consumer after all, but don’t go on the internet and discredit other people, their work and contribution, just because you’re are pathetic bystander yourself.
Android was a sink for people who want things like this and an excuse for people to rationalize Apple doing it. If Android is "good enough" then who needs some actual Linux phone? If Android is open and that's what you want then why don't people just buy one of those instead of having the government break up Apple and Google?
People become willing to do things when you throw them out in the cold that they wouldn't do when you were still supplying the bread and circuses, and those people they don't like? It's because they're stubborn and they actually care and they know how to build things, isn't it?
