Rather than the far side, what about the Dark Side of the Moon?

Because it's not always dark. Only during a full moon on Earth is the far side fully dark.

... matter of fact it's all dark.

(The moon has an albedo of 12%)

Markdown is for us humans. HTML is for machines.

Per keyboard stroke, you write much more content with MD than HTML.

Even without a specific browser/reader Markdown is relatively non-intrusive to read. You cant read HTML without an extra tool/effort to discard tags.

And you can parse MD with regular expressions, or can you? ;). (tip hat to infamous Stackoverflow discussion)

If HTML were for machines it would be a binary format. It's text so it's meant for humans to read and write, and humans did both for years without it being a problem.

Trained humans can read and write HTML. Untrained humans can read and then write Markdown.

That sounds like an invisible malevolent force trying to destroy us, himm, sounds familiar :).

For some good portion of the earth's population, I dont think things would go worse than it is even if there were an alian invasion.

Your reasons listed under a HN comment are more plausible than those listed by who worked on this subject for years. I find it funny and admiring.

That is inevitable :)

males competing against males are also at risk by taking a ball to the head :).

I think male female trans etc . can compete if analysed by sports branch basis. Male x female in contact sports like karate boxing taekwondo is not fair. However i think the difference is negligible in shooting, archerty, curling etc.

Men play volleyball with a higher net to ameliorate this problem.

it is an additional burden to switch to shell vi mode, it is not the standard. Maybe you can put it in all of yout bashrc files but you will probably hear some swearing from the people logging to your machines :).

I bet they will be deleting code from the archived code just like that minio people.

I am not a defender of Word (2024) but it starts in 1-2 seconds in my laptop.

Actually the speed is a problem when you have hundreds of pages with track changes and comments.

Maybe you should check Wordperfect or WordStar ;)

I recently left a large law firm where Word took upwards of 30 seconds to launch. To be fair, I think the issue was the many large and buggy plugins that came preinstalled on everyone's machines. But it still left me glowering at the Microsoft Word logo multiple times a day.
