Who said they don't?

Rust is a single vendor. It's not really the same situation.

Having multiple compiler vendors is a problem IMO not a feature. It fragments the ecosystem - the code compiles fine with this compiler but not this other one. The maintenance of portable Rust code is significantly easier.

I think the way forward is multiple backends (LLVM + GCC) to improve platform support, but a single unified frontend that works correctly on all platforms is a good thing.

There is a single standard committee though. There is really nothing stopping them from shipping tooling that can do the conversions for people. The number of vendors isn't really the problem here. The problem is that the committee shifts that responsibility onto the vendors of the compiler rather than owning it themselves.

But Anthropic should test their app and login experiences from phones they ship to.

Is it actually tricky?

Do we let other countries wage war, pillage, etc. because others gathered wealth that way previously?

That's not just consumers. That is "importers and consumers"

When I run into things like this that I know are wrong, I try to remember when reading things I don't know about...

Re: ooxml vs odt/odf

I've heard that both have parts of the spec that are hard to implement if you don't have the software to verify.

How is it a bad thing that both major office software are now documented?

As i rmeber it ooxml backers made it intentionally harder to parse the specs than was necessary ,if it was fully open i believe the open source implementation would have been on par. As it is its subtly broken in annoying ways , and with Word being the default - its version wins out and gets to be the only acceptable submission format. If you notice most doc submissions when its not a pdf being requested will specifify MS's version. And by sheer momentum the alts get less traction.

Even if you go only by Elon's TSLA shares, he has north of 200B net worth.

If the CIA published this for the first time this year, no one would want it.

Why is valued if it is removed?

There will never be "one true" org for groups like this anymore. There is no rational reason for a group to put a target on their back.

Leading isolated cells by social media is the new techique to cause change/chaos (depending on your viewpoint).
